Well, I said earlier we were dealing with wild animal problems, so here it is. A while back (maybe 1 or 2 week ago) Jeannie got rid of some overgrown bushes and saw something ran out from under it right as she was doing it. A couple days later we started to notice a lot of rat poops everywhere in our backyard. Super gross… We were pretty sure that they were from our lovely neighbors with a messy backyard (we can see their backyard from upstairs, thanks neighbor!), thus started the operation.
We employed both the spring-loaded traps and lots of poison. These things are expensive… $8 for 10 little packs.

WARNING! GROSS PICTURES AHEAD…

The rats totally ignored the traps, but appearantly they loved the poison. They cleaned out EVERY SINGLE ONE each night, and I couldn’t even find the wrappers. It was getting pretty expensive and discouraging, but we held our course. $50 and 5 days later, we saw this in a small trash can outside - 3 baby rats… They weren’t dead, but they were moving very slowly, probably heavily poisoned…

A day later, a big one, probably the mom, by the trash can…

Another day later, an innocent casualty of the operation. I guess a bird was tempted by the peanut butter and met its unfortunate end… You can’t see it very well in the picture, but I was too grossed out to take another one after I flipped it over…

We still have the poison out just to make sure, but we haven’t seen them disappearing for 2 days. Hopefully we will declare the operation a success soon.
