We had big plans over the past weekend, but unfortunately, it was just so freaking hot outside (~100F) that they did not get executed. What were the plans you ask? Bah… Doesn’t matter anymore because it didn’t happen. The summer weather is just so HOT here in the inlands that it makes you just want to stay inside, be lazy, and out of the sun, which is mostly of what we did.
We did, however, feel bad about locking Lorelai up inside the house all day due to our own laziness, that we broke out our newly purchased deluxe backyard pool from BabiesRUs and let her have a go in the backyard. Mind you, it’s 100 degrees outside, but a “certain” member of the Lin team was concerned that Lorelai might get a cold outside if it’s just cold water, so we filled the pool up with warm water under the 100 degree weather. (Obviously, my objections were overruled)
Lorelai had lots of fun, so much fun that she cried when we tried to take her out of the pool. LOLz.
Check out her pictures at the Gallery or click HERE.
While out in the backyard, we noticed that we have a new neighbor - a humming bird had made a nest in a tree in the backyard! Cool eh? We decided to name the little dude “Butt”, since that’s the 1st word that Lorelai keeps saying clearly (Seriously, not kidding. You can clearly hear the “t” sound at the end every time!). After the pool, we stopped by Home Depot to get a humming bird feeder for Butt. We hope he’ll hang out us more and be comfortable.

Oh how neat! We had a hummingbird nest in our bay shrub last summer. It was so exciting to watch their progress. The tiny little things flew away only 21 days after hatching. While we still see birds in our yard, we haven’t found a nest this year. Keep us posted and Thanks!

Yeah hopefully they will hang out with us a bit longer and the feeder will attract more of them.
