Breaking News! (ok not really) regarding PinkBerry

by Jack · No Comments

Thanks to our faithful reader Garrett, who apparently hates PinkBerry with passion, we have just learned that the oh-so-popular frozen yogurt shop that we were just talking about earlier are making these “yogurts” from powders, which totally lacks any health benefits that they advertise.

Looks like they are getting sued:

The suit alleges that Pinkberry has unlawfully capitalized on the health-consciousness of the California public by falsely calling its product “frozen yogurt.” Plaintiff contends that, in direct violation of California law, Pinkberry’s product is made from a powder base, mixed with water and/or milk on site, and then sold without notice to consumers of its ingredients.
The plaintiff contends Pinkberry’s dry powder mix lacks the bacteria or bacterial cultures that define yogurt and create its health benefits.

The original article can be found here.

It’s going to be interesting to see how PinkBerry will respond. (I have to say that when we were at Yogurt Land yesterday, we did see them pour some “white liquid” from a sealed carton which I could only assume to be liquid yogurt. Does this liquid contain the bacteria cultures that make the yogurt healthy? Who knows.)
