Since we haven’t really been out to walk around for a long while, we decided to go to the local LA Zoo to just be under the sun and see some captured animals on Sunday.
The drive there did take us a while from Chino Hills (about an hour), so that kinda went against the idea of a “local” zoo, but still, it’s much closer than the San Diego zoo. The weather was surprisingly nice – the sun was out in the afternoon with a bit of a breeze. The tickets are cheap ($10 for adults, $5 for kids) considering the size of the zoo, and we didn’t really have to wait long to buy the tickets.
Maybe because of the nice weather, however, most of the animals were in the lazy bum mode – most of them were just laying around under the sun enjoying a nice afternoon nap, not great of photo opportunities. We did see a lot of constructions inside the zoo, and it appeared that they are making some new exhibits for the upcoming Gorilla & Golden Monkeys reserves. We will sure to go back for these when they are open.
Some pictures of Jeannie follows. She is more than halfway through the pregnancy now, and everything is going well. We are still working on the girl’s name :)

Well like I said, the animals were lazy, but I tried. Some pictures:
