Jeannie & I watched this on DVD and neither of us really liked it, even me, a Bond fan.  I have to admin that I like the old Bond, Pierce Brosnan, better, maybe because he’s more seasoned and funny, but this new Bond, Daniel Craig, isn’t half bad at all.  In fact, I really have no problem with him, since I think he’s doing a pretty good job, but the storyline for this Bond film was just, blah….

First of all, this movie is almost 2.5 hours long, and a lot of it is talking, poker playing, blah blah blah.  There was never really much action.  The story was pretty confusing and not string along very well.  It was like 3 mini stories that are a bit related but not at all very interesting individually or together.  And gone was the sometimes silly humor and high tech gadgets, which I do enjoy in previous Bond movies, but apparently some “pure” Bond fans didn’t like them.

So, this is definitely something different for a Bond film.  It maybe float your boat, or maybe not.  It didn’t work for me or Jeannie.
