Thanks to Howzer’s planning and invitation, we went to the newly reopened Griffith Observatory this morning when it was a lot less crowded and very nice and cool up there. I’ve never been there before, and it was nice to finally get a chance to go and see what’s up there. It is very nicely (re)done, and had some interesting displays. The staff there were all very friendly and helpful, and full of interesting tidbits about the displays.

For lunch, we went on a culinary adventure with Howzer and Godparents to try out this newly discovered Masa @ Echo Park, which specializes in Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza. It’s a charming little cafe style restaurant that has a lot of character with very unique decorations. Their food is not bad either, I especially liked their anchovy pizza, very yummy. I would not suggest getting their “water” as your drink though, since like the restaurant, it comes with a lot of “character”.
