Last night Jeannie & I went to the first of many (and many many) classes that we signed up for with St. Jude Hospital in preparation of our new arrival, and the topic of the night was “Parenting”, or more specifically, how to survive your first 8~10 weeks. Some interesting things that we learned were: baby powder = bad, Zinc Oxide cream for rash = good, and baby’s neck = nasty/dirty.
We also got some hands-on practices on how to bath and swaddle (it’s just a fancy word for wrap) your baby with our own special temporary baby. The class was informative and not that boring like what I had thought it would be. I would recommend it to people if you can do it (the parenting class is for 3 weeks, 7:00~9:30pm, once a week), but after a long day of work, it’s a lot to take. We didn’t get home till almost 10:00pm and are dead tired today.
And please, if your feet stinks (if you don’t know, please just assume they do), don’t take your feet out of your shoes in a crowded room and rest it on the back of someone’s (my) chair, even if you are pregnant… No, pregnancy doesn’t make your feet smell better, and please enjoy them in the privacy of your own home.
Here’s us with our randomly assigned temp baby: (Sorry, I look kinda retarded. It had been a long day)
“Yo Boy, Here you go!”

“Wutz Upppppp………”

Not that satisfied with our initial assignment, we exchanged our baby:
“I am an Asian girl!”

“And I am glad that you are.”
