We had dedicated this weekend to be productive – we wanted to organize all the tax related documents (just gathering, not even start), and file my petition to remove the temporary status of my permanent resident status so that I can have “permanent” permanent resident status (try to say that really quick 10 times).
Well, judging from the title of this post, you can probably tell how it went. Doing paperworks is just purely no fun at all, it’s very demoralizing on your weekend. To cheer myself up, I took a series of “breaks” to re-energize myself for the dounting task ahead…
Break 1:
Before I even started, we decided to take Toothpick out to the park so he could run around like a crazy dog that he is since it was pretty nice out.

Tired from the park, we then needed a break from the break, so we decided to watch Flags of Our Fathers that I just got from Netflix. It’s a good movie with some very interesting historical facts that I bet not a lot of us knew – Did you know that famous photograph of solders putting up the flag wasn’t that important at all? They had to put that flag up because some politician wanted the original flag so they were ordered to up that one up as a replacement. It’s also very interesting how the movie said that a picture can make or break a war. Definitely a movie worth watching. We are looking forward to watch Letters from Iwo Jima when it comes out on DVD (we are getting kinda lazy & cheap to go to the theaters these days).
Well, after all these “breaks”, it’s not surprising that I didn’t finish doing any of the tax stuff (didn’t even get started actually), but I did somehow manage to finish the Green Card stuff. Better luck next weekend I guess…
