Damn I took a lot of pictures. It took me forever to sort through these and near the end I wasn’t really paying too much attention. Anyway, click on the picture below that links to the Paris Gallery.
Here are some basic descriptions of what we did:
We got to the hotel around 3pm, and were pretty damn tired. But we forced ourselves to go out so that we don’t suffer too much jet lag. So we went out and visited Chateau de Vincennes (near the hotel), the Louvre (outside, didn’t go in), and the neighborhood around the Louvre.
We visited Notre Dame, Pantheon, the Luxembourg Garden, and then it started to rain like hell. We then walked to St. Sulpice (which is mentioned in Da Vinci Code) to wait for the rain to stop. After the rain stopped, we walked to St. Germain and took the metro back to the hotel.
We went in the Louvre (very crowded with tourists like us. Mona Lisa was very small), and then walked from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower (a very long walk), where we waited 3 hours to go to the top and got to see it during day and night. Didn’t get home till 12:30am.
We were pretty tired from the previous night, so we took it easy. We went to Arc de Triomphe and walked along the Champs Elysees, had dinner, and that’s all.
Day trip to Versailles, and god damned the place was huge and we walked till our feet were burning with pain.
Went to Bastille, Victor Hugo’s House, Carnavalet Museum (free!), Picasso Museum, Sacre-Caur (Sacred Heart), and walked through the sex district to see Moulin Rouge. We got hustled out of $50 euro… Jeannie was convinced that she had the right card picked (out of 3)…
Went to d’Orsay Museum and saw some Manet, Degas, Monet, and van Gogh.
That’s pretty much what we did… I am too lazy to write up a detail description, I think. Overall, it was definitely a fun trip. We walked like we have never walked before, but that’s the price you pay for fun I guess.
