POI:
Pretty burned out from yesterday, we decided to just take it easy today and took the Metro to the famous Arc de Triomphe. It was yet another piece of impressive landmark because of its size and all the details on it. We of course had to take lots of pictures like any respectable good tourist would do and crossed the street the wrong way like so many others (we later found out that the right way was through an underground tunnel).
Reading about it in the guide book, we decided to buy the ticket and go up to the top of the Arc, since we were in Paris and it’s unlikely we will get too many chances. The way up took us a while with us causing a minor backlog in the single person stair case since we were just so tired from yesterday. But we got there nontheless and took some evidence of us being there.
After the Arc, we decided to just take a relaxing walk on the Champs Elysees with all the crazy expensive shops. We also had one of those preset combo menus in a restaurant where many of the “options” in those menus are conveniently “unavailable”. The food was ok I guess, nothing great, but their service pace was soooooooooo slow. Jeannie & I finished the dish they served us in 10 mins and had to wait 30 mins for the next one, which just drove us crazy since we didn’t really want to complain since (1) we don’t speak French and (2) we don’t want them to spite in our food.
